Song Hye Kyo, Han Chae Young, Soo Ae, Lee Yo Won, and Kim Tae Hee…. All these ladies are well-known and represent Korea’s top female celebrity army and all these actresses have this in common – all these women experienced playing as Jo Hyun Jae’s partner in a drama!
Out of these ladies, Jo Hyun Jae acted with the so called “Barbie Doll” Han Chae Young 3 times in a row. On the other hand, with “Tae Ppu” (Pretty Tae Hee) Kim Tae Hee, he has acted with her twice already including “Yongpal”.
Jo Hyun Jae met for an interview with Sports Chosun on the 8th of October at a cafe in Gangnam, Seoul. During the interview he answered the question, “you seem to be blessed with pretty ladies”.
Jo Hyun Jae said, “With the drama “Yongpal” and reuniting with Kim Tae Hee, seeing our characters coming out as something totally different from before, made me think that, it’s really good to be making things happen with the people you have acted with in the past.”
Jo Hyun Jae was asked who among his previous leading ladies he thought he worked well. He replied, “I think I have good acting chemistry with Soo Ae from “Love Letter” and Lee Yo Won from “49 Days”. I think we really jelled well together, hence we were able to act to our heart’s content.”
He picked Song Hye Kyo and Han Chae Young as the ladies who look even more pretty in real life than on screen. Jo Hyun Jae said, “I think Song Hye Kyo and Han Chae Young are truly pretty.”
Jo Hyun Jae continues, “Out of all the actresses I have worked with in the past, I have worked with Han Chae Young 3 times already. She and I have been friends for 13 years now. We are so close that we can talk about everything with each other. Even though she is a woman, she is like one of the boys,” he explained.
Jo Hyun Jae and Han Chae Young first met in the drama “Father and Sons” back in 2001, then in 2005 they meet again in “Only You”. They meet for the third time in 2013 in “Advertising Genius, Lee Tae Baek”.
Jo Hyun Jae has nothing but compliments for Han Chae Young. He describes her thusly, “She is the type of friend who would lend you money even if you call about it so suddenly. She is very loyal to her friends and very easy-going.”
Jo Hyun Jae reveals his special relationship with 2 of his former beautiful leading ladies, “Up to now I still meet frequently with some of my co-stars from “Ballad of Seodong” which includes Lee Bo Young. Even as I was working on “Yongpal”, Lee Bo Young and Han Chae Young called me up and they gave me words of support. They told me that they were watching the drama and that they were enjoying it.”
Jo Hyun Jae made his debut through the “Pocari Sweat” advertisement back in 2000 and now he is considered a veteran actor who has been in this business for 16 years. Because of his handsome looks and gentle image he was in such weighty dramas such as “Ballad of Seodong”, “Love Letter”, “First Love”, and “King’s Daughter, Soo Baek Hyang” . With “Yongpal” being highly rated, he was able to widen his acting spectrum while pulling off his acting abilities as a villain.
Meanwhile, Jo Hyun Jae will be taking a break for a while and at the same time he will be open to all kinds of genres and out of that he will choose his future project.
