Jo Hyun Jae reveals his disappointment at Han Do Jun‘s early exit in “Yongpal”.
On October 5, an interview with actor Jo Hyun Jae was held at a cafe in Nonhyun, Gangnam, Seoul to talk about the end of telecast of “Yongpal” (written by Jang Hyuk Rin, directed by Oh Jin Seok).
When asked about the early death of Han Do Jun, Jo Hyun Jae expressed his disappointment. He said, “I was disappointed. Initially, “Yongpal” was supposed to be 16 episodes only. But it was hastily extended by 2 episodes, which resulted in an atmosphere where the Writer became worried.”
Jo Hyun Jae added, “Originally, I was supposed to appear until episode 18, but they had to cut it short for some reason. I think everyone was just in a hurry to wrap everything up.” These are Jo Hyun Jae’s words as he disclosed his surprise at the different ending of “Yongpal”.
Jo Hyun Jae continued, “It seemed that I came out as a ghost, but in actuality I appeared only in Yeo Jin’s hallucinations, but it felt like Yeo Jin was laying down Do Jun. Then there’s a bit of an emotion where Chae Young lays down her dagger of revenge as she sees that part of Yeo Jin.”
Jo Hyun Jae gave a possible reason for the change in the ending. He explained, “I think this part of the drama was just too rushed because the 2-episode extension was organized hastily. From the point of view of Do Jun there is a lot of disappointment.”
Jo Hyun Jae revealed his thoughts on the ending of “Yongpal”, “When you look at it from Do Jun’s perspective there are many regrets. For Do Jun’s character there remains a lot of regrets, but I understand that these things are decided by many others. I think they wrapped up “Yongpal” in a completely different direction.”
Jo Hyun Jae played the evil Han Do Jun in the SBS drama “Yongpal” who put his sister into a forced coma. Jo Hyun Jae has left a deep impression among viewers with his villain acting.
